Christmas Present Ideas For Babies
Struggling with what Christmas present to buy the littlest member of your family this year? We all have. Lets face it, they don’t actually want anything except food and sleep, but you feel your tiny one at least needs something from Santa! So here’s to not going overboard on newborns this Christmas (unless you want to) with a few simple Christmas present ideas for little babies.
Babies are too young to know all about Santa, gifts and Christmas. They usually already have more than they’ll ever need for the short little time they’re babies! You’re definitely more excited than them and their first Christmas is a happy occasion for you more than them really. You could choose to go down the personalised gifts route. If it’s your first child your buying for, you could buy a “My First Christmas” personalised bauble and make it a first Christmas tradition for any more children you have! There’s some really cute things out there that can be personalised with your child’s name and birth date. You can even get babies first Christmas hand and foot print casts!
They’re simple, cute, brightly coloured activity toys for tots. Often featuring rattles, crinkly bits, teethers and squeakers. What more could a baby want!? There’s a ton of variety with Lamaze toys, from dragons and unicorns to octopus’s (octopi?) and bunnies, so you can pick out something that feels right for your baby. I bought Lamaze’s Emily doll for my littlest as a present after her first round of jabs, she still loves it now!
Whether this is for your baby, a grandchild, niece, nephew etc. you can’t go wrong with clothes! After all, they do grow like weeds for the first year. They won’t be unwrapping their own presents after all, even if you have an older baby that can, they’d still be happy with clothes. Babies love nearly anything! It’s helpful, practical and baby has an extra present under the tree this Christmas. It’s great to get them in the next size up too.
You can’t go wrong with a cuddly toy! There’s obviously loads out there, you can choose something for your little one to sleep with every night. For one of my kids first Christmases, I got them the Nut Brown Hare teddy from the “Guess How Much I Love You?” book. I’d received the book as a gift and had read it to her every night since the day she was born, so it just felt natural to get her the teddy too. If you can find little connections like that, it makes giving a teddy to your little one feel extra special. You can even get both a teddy and “Baby’s First Christmas” memento tied into one and go with a Christmas teddy.
Babies love books. There’s so many different types for them and books will grow with them. There’s touchy feely books, picture books, bed time books and more. Make sure you get a board book if your going to let baby play with it as he or she grows older though! Older babies love to rip pages just as much as they love to look at books.
Whatever you buy your tiny loved one this year, be it big or small, I’m sure they’ll love it! Don’t forget to dress them up in silly reindeer outfits, take lots of pictures and try to enjoy every moment, you only get their very first Christmas once, treasure it!
